Unfortunately ,In 2020 we went under lockdown due to some weirdest species of food , its doesn't mean that because of the food we all are suffered by Covid19 . Consider this a public service and an education to save you from shock when you come across these, the weirdest foods from around the world.
Tripe
Tripe is a type of edible lining from the stomachs of various farm animals like cow , sheep.
It is made from the muscle wall of only the first three chambers of a cow's stomach, the reticulum, and the omasum. Abomasum tripe is seen less frequently, owing to its glandular tissue content.
How was its taste?
It has a mild flavor and combines nicely with many other ingredients, especially aromatic elements such as onion, garlic, and some herbs.
Shiokara
Shiokara is a food in Japanese cuisine made from various marine animals that consists of small pieces of meat in a brown viscous paste of the animal's. Shiokara is known as “chinmi” or “a rare taste”. The raw viscera are mixed with about 10% salt, 30% malted rice, packed in a closed container, and fermented for up to a month.
How was it's taste?
The flavor of the food is full of saltiness in European texture , but its taste stronger in Japanese texture.
Fried Spider
Fried Spider is most popular and traditional snack in Cambodia . Its mostly prepared to attract the tourist who passing the town .
How is it's taste?
The taste has been described as bland, "rather like a cross between chicken and cod", with a contrast in texture from a crispy exterior to a soft center. The legs contain little flesh, while the head and body have "a delicate white meat inside"
Witchetty Grub
This was another staple of Indigenous Australians in the desert. These can either be eaten raw.
It is a part of Australian "bushmeat" family.
How was it's taste ?
The raw witchetty grub tastes similar to almonds, and when cooked, the skin becomes crisp like roast chicken
Balut
Balut is a Philippines based food which was also available in China's street shops. It is a Filipino term for a fertilized developing egg embryo that is boiled and eaten from the shell.
How was it's taste?
Balut has a mild savory flavor with a slightly fermented undertone. The egg juice is best compared to egg-infused chicken.
